Dien Bien Street of Yen Bai City's Yen Ninh Ward recorded around three locations where water levels were as deep as half a meter. The whole city, the capital of Yen Bai Province, recorded 26 inundated spots, and as the water has receded, locals and authorities started to clean up the streets.

Since Friday night, due to the effects of a high-pressure area in the north, along with high-altitude winds, several mountainous regions in the north have seen heavy rains. Rain levels from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday in Tan Dong station of Tran Yen District were around 200 mm.
Rubbles and trees on a hill in Van Yen were eroded. Over 90 ha of crops and 40 ha of other plants in Tran Yen, Yen Binh and Van Yen Districts were damaged, incurring a loss at over VND5 billion ($205,044).
At around 3 a.m., rubbles from a hill in Yen Thai Commune, Van Yen District barreled down and buried a house.
The police helped the people relocate their belongings. The Yen Bai Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue said around 400 houses were damaged due to the rains and floods.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said northern Vietnam would continue to see rain levels at 20-80 mm.
