Heavy rains combined with strong winds uprooted two trees of around 30 cm in trunk diameter near the Saigon Bridge at around 6 p.m.
Tree branches blocked part of the street, hitting a car and two motorbikes, but no one was injured.
Some people on the road had to help pull the motorbikes out of the branches before their drivers continued their journey.
Staff members from a public company in charge of managing urban trees arrived later to cut the branches and clean them up.

Nguyen Tuan Kiet, who sells ice-cream on Nguyen Duy Trinh, said the rains poured at 5 p.m. and flooded the street after half an hour.
"It floods when it rains, you can't do any business then."
Around 400 m of Bui Vien, a popular beer hub street in downtown District 1, was 20-30 cm under water.
Shops were forced to move their chairs and tables to higher ground.

The Southern Region Hydro-Meteorological Center has forecast that HCMC will be rainy in the afternoon and evening between Monday and Thursday this week.
The Monday evening rainfall was measured at 62 mm in Thu Duc and nearly 30 mm in Nha Be District.
