Park along Saigon River taking shape

The renovation of the park has been going on for more than a month. A stretch around 600 meters long and 40 meters wide from the Saigon River Tunnel to Ba Son Bridge will be renovated at the cost of around VND90 billion (US$3.7 million) from private resources.

An old bridge has been painted red and called the love bridge.

A pier which used to serve the Thu Thiem ferries before the Saigon River Tunnel is being upgraded to serve visitors coming to the park by boats.

Trees have been growing well and added green shade to the park.

Le Van Minh takes care of flower pots for a spring-themed decoration.

Around 20,000 sunflower plants have been planted for the Lunar New Year to create photo shoot backgrounds.

Vu Khanh Thuy (R) said the park is airy as it lies next to the river, and not so crowded like venues in the city center.

An ecological park, a walking bridge, a dome and a ferris wheel are to be added in coming months.
