Heavy rains lasting nearly two hours flooded many parts of HCMC on Thursday night, paralyzing traffic and disrupting daily life.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Center, a low-pressure system in the East Sea was the reason for the heavy rain in HCMC on Thursday night.

Many parts of the city received over 60 mm of rainfall in two hours.
