A downpour that lasted five minutes on Thursday felled several trees in Hanoi's Thanh Xuan District, causing property damage.

Between noon and 1 p.m., Hanoi's Thanh Xuan and Gia Lam districts saw severe downpours, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Network.

Meteorological agencies said downtown Hanoi and nearby areas would record rain levels between 20-50 mm Thursday afternoon, and certain streets may be flooded up to 40 cm.
