Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has the seventh highest net worth in the world, yet he has always been seen wearing cheap watches.

Despite having a net worth of $126.8 billion, his taste in watches is not limited to the prestigious Rolex or Patek Phillipe that many billionaires prefer.

The American billionaire is usually spotted wearing the Casio Duro MDV106-1AV 200M Analog Watch.

This model is currently listed at US$69.9 on Casio’s website.

Bill Gates was also seen wearing the Casio MRW-200H-1B2VDF.

This Casio model also boasts a minimalistic design and a date display right at the three o’clock mark.

His collection also includes another watch from the same brand, the Casio W214H-1AV Illuminator Sports Digital Chrono Watch.

Valued at only $24, this is the cheapest watch in Gates’ collection.

Aside from his Casio, Gates was also seen wearing the Microsoft SPOT smartwatch.

Released in 2004, 11 years before the Apple Watch, the SPOT could display weather, stock prices, sports scores, and AOL instant messages.

The watch was later discontinued and Celebs Watch Spotter values it at $200.

He wore it to a conference in the Philippines where he asked a watch enthusiast among the attendees to guess the timepiece’s price, the South China Morning Post reported.

The attendee suggested it to be at $600 while it was actually around $1,400.

Gates gave the watch to the attendee as a gift nonetheless.

Watches aside, the billionaire is currently garnering great attention during his holiday to Da Nang after attending a pre-wedding party of Asia's richest billionaire Mukesh Ambani's son in India.

He arrived in Vietnam on Monday morning and is staying at a 5-star resort in Da Nang’s Son Tra District.
