Reporting from HK01 reveals that Leung has spent the last two months filming in Europe, with Lau by his side. They have used his days off to explore various European locales together.
Earlier in the month, the couple was in Hungary. Pictures uploaded on Lau’s Weibo showcase them walking through city streets and enjoying lavender fields.
In the video, Lau remarks that their 35 years together have deepened their understanding of one another’s thoughts and desires, contributing to their comfort and happiness. She thus finds romance in every moment spent with Leung, she explained.
Their itinerary included visits to beaches, art museums, and gatherings with friends, such as Vietnamese-French director Tran Anh Hung and his wife, actress Tran Nu Yen Khe.
In recent years, Lau has predominantly acted as a representative for Leung, facilitating his collaborations with renowned film crews and securing major roles that have earned him several prestigious acting awards, while also managing a fashion business.
During an appearance on Dolphin TV, Lau joked that she feels like Leung’s mother because he lacks skills in household tasks and is reserved around new people, which leads her to manage everything from his contract negotiations to home repairs.
Despite this, she feels fulfilled as Leung makes her feel appreciated.
Lau, 59, started her acting career in 1984 and rose to fame in the 1980s through various successful drama series. Her film roles, including appearances in two “Infernal Affairs” sequels and in “2046” directed by Wong Kar-wai, have greatly enhanced her global recognition.
Leung, 62, began his acting career in 1982 and is renowned as one of Asia’s most notable and globally recognized actors. He is particularly celebrated for his collaborations with Wong Kar-wai, which include seven films such as “In the Mood for Love,” for which he won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The couple tied the knot in 2008.
