Hau (in white t-shirt) and My were present at Hai’s Thursday nuptials with Chu Thanh Huyen, celebrated on a football field near Hai’s residence in the Dong Anh district of Hanoi.
The reunion with Park (far R) at the event brought a smile to Hau’s face.
Park took the opportunity to inquire about and extend his congratulations to Hau and My concerning the anticipated arrival of their child, a joyous news shared by the couple earlier this week.
Park was also among the attendees at Hau and My’s wedding in November last year.
While engaging with My, Park humorously expressed his “sympathy” for her, given her responsibilities towards both Hau, someone he called a “big child,” and their expected child.
Park, Hau, and My were seated together at the same table. The coach invited the ex-language assistant of the U23 Vietnam team (far R) to the table to serve as an interpreter during his conversation with Hau and My.
Hau, 24, gained recognition with his exceptional early career performances, solidifying his role as a regular starter for the national team and playing a key role in Vietnam’s triumph at the 2018 SEA Games.
He and My, 22, started dating a few months after My finished in the top 10 of the 2020 Miss Vietnam competition. They officially tied the knot in November last year.
A number of fellow wedding attendees recognized Park and eagerly approached him for photographs, which he warmly welcomed.
At the age of 67, Park took on the role of head coach for the Vietnam national team at the end of 2017. He led the team to remarkable achievements, including a second-place finish at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, winning the 2018 AFF Cup, securing gold medals at both the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games, and guiding Vietnam to the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup for the first time in its history, with Hai playing a significant role in these successes.
Park’s departure from the national team in early 2023 was met with widespread disappointment among fans. He recently dodged media inquiries regarding the speculation of his return to the team, especially after the early termination of his successor Philippe Troussier’s contract due to unsatisfactory performances.
Following his tenure with the team, Park has devoted his efforts to developing his youth football academy in Vietnam and has also embraced the role of senior advisor at Bac Ninh FC, which competes in the country’s second football division.
Hai, 27, and Huyen, 24, have organized a supplementary festivity scheduled for April 6 at the JW Marriott, a five-star accommodation situated in the Nam Tu Liem district of Hanoi. The property is renowned for having accommodated esteemed global figures like former U.S. President Barack Obama, current U.S. President Joe Biden, and Xi Jinping, the General Secretary and President of China, throughout their stays in Vietnam.
The event is expected to attract numerous celebrities from the realms of sports and entertainment in Vietnam.
