Li shared a series of vacation photos and videos on her Xiaohongshu account, alongside a caption that reads: “Not relying on anyone, become your own light. Pierce through the shadows, illuminate the path ahead.”
Over recent years, Li has prioritized travel, often without a fixed schedule, staying in places as long or as briefly as she desires.
Traveling frequently with her parents, Li has gained new insights about them. She recounted how her parents, who initially hesitated about traveling due to their age, ended up enjoying the experiences and keeping pace with her.
She also observed that these journeys have mended old familial rifts.
“It turns out these trips also ‘heal’ them,” she explained on Xiaohongshu. “I’ve noticed that my dad isn’t as hot-tempered as before, and my mom isn’t as nitpicky.”
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Li expressed a sense of fulfillment and happiness in her life. Together with her sister Li Xue, she manages an entertainment company overseeing the careers of actors such as Gülnezer Bextiyar and Zhou Ye. Reducing her acting commitments has allowed her more personal time, she said.
Li is also devoted to her sister’s children, treating them as her own and investing significant effort into their upbringing.
Regarding marriage, Li maintains a relaxed outlook, stating: “If I meet the right person, then date. If we’re no longer suitable, not happy together anymore, then part ways.”
Li first gained significant recognition for her role in the 1999 film “Seventeen Years.” Her career subsequently soared with successes in “A World Without Thieves,” “The Knot,” “The Forbidden Kingdom,” “The Message,” and “Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame.”
She also made her mark in Hollywood with roles in “Resident Evil: Retribution,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” and “The Meg.”
Li has appeared multiple times on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list, achieving rankings of 26th in 2013, 28th in 2014, 13th in 2015, 29th in 2017, and 76th in 2019.
The actress keeps her personal life private, having only once confirmed a relationship with Xu Wennan, a senior executive at an investment firm 16 years her junior, in 2017. The couple parted ways in 2021.
