In the photos, Xu channels a modern-day princess, completing the couple’s romantic, storybook theme.
The pair posed on a grassy lawn before a castle backdrop, drawing thousands of comments on Weibo praising the “straight-out-of-a-fairytale” aesthetic.
Several local reports claimed the wedding took place the same day in Hainan, China, but Huang’s management denied the rumor.
Huang and Xu first met while both were under South Korea’s SM Entertainment, Huang had debuted with EXO, while Xu was a trainee. Huang left SM in 2015, returned to China, and launched his own agency. Xu returned to China in 2018 after appearing on several idol survival shows and later signed with Huang’s company as a singer.
Active in China as a singer, actor, composer, and producer, Huang has also worked behind the scenes on reality programs such as “Produce 101.”
Chinese media have dubbed him the “rich heir of showbiz,” with the South China Morning Post reporting he inherited an estimated US$3 billion from his late father, businessman Huang Zhongdong.
Renwu magazine has noted that Huang Zhongdong built a company valued at over 20 billion yuan (US$2.8 billion) and held more than 20% of its shares, with the family owning multiple properties.
