The beauty queen embarked on a one-week trip to Tibet in mid-April. In the photos taken during her journey, she is seen dressed warmly in hats, scarves, and gloves.
“Traveling to the extremely challenging Tibet requires physical strength, willpower, optimism, and determination,” Giang My said.
“The weather was so harsh on the first day of my trip, causing me to experience headaches and insomnia. I only felt better and gradually acclimatized to the nature and climate there on the second and third day.”
Despite the challenges, Giang My expressed her happiness upon setting foot in the sacred and mystical land.
“We traveled to an altitude of 5,500 m by car,” she recalled. “The scenery was stunning there, but the air was very thin.”
The beauty queen added that the temperature dropped to as low as 1 degree Celsius, while the sun burned her skin, and the strong wind made her feel like she could be blown away.
Upon arrival, Giang My mentioned that everyone in her team experienced breathing difficulties and headaches. Their faces and limbs became numb and swollen, making walking much more strenuous than usual.
“There was one person in my team who couldn’t stand it and flew back to Vietnam on the first day of the trip,” Giang My said.
Giang My was seen walking around and taking photos in Tibet’s wild, quiet landscapes, wearing local-styled outfits.
She also enjoyed holding the long-haired Tibetan goat, which looks different from goats living in the plains.
The beauty queen shared that she only had a few minutes to admire the scenery and take pictures before rushing back into the car due to difficulty breathing outside.
“I felt unwell and had to use the oxygen tank after taking a few photos,” said Giang My.
During her visit, Giang My stopped at a monastery located in the mountains to pray and watch young monks study. According to her, the monastery is surrounded by brown rock mountains, and snow still covered the area in April.
“I remained bewildered admiring the beauty of peace, which is separate from the outside world,” she said. “I think Tibet is a land that everyone should visit at least once in their life.”
