The Electrified Vehicle Exhibition 2024, organized by VnExpress, took place at Yen So Park, Hanoi, on Jan. 13–14. This is the first time in Vietnam there has been an event dedicated to car models equipped with hybrid and pure electric engines.
Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to learn about the cars and test drive them.
VinFast, one of the leading EV brands in Vietnam, displays its most powerful vehicle lineup at the exhibition. From bicycles, motorbikes, cars, and electric buses, VinFast creates an ecosystem that can reach the maximum number of customers.
Young people were attracted to electric motorbikes such as Klara, Theon, Vento while car models such as the VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 interested visitors who came with families.
Thanh, 50, said that the exhibition was convenient for one to see many the car brands. The most impressive thing for him was the VinFast booth. "Unfortunately, there was no VF 3 model here, so I signed up to test drive Wuling because I am interested in this little car."
Another brand with a large scale at the exhibition was Hyundai.
Its technical staff presented to visitors the chassis design of the Ioniq 6 electric car model, how electricity flows into the inverter and then to the small battery cells, how to cool the battery system, and how the motor operates... The two Santa Fe hybrid models and the pure electric Genesis G80 also attracted hundreds of visitors.
With the three aspects of "speed, smoothness, and forward-looking," MG impressed visitors with its Cyberster pure electric sports car. The British car brand has restructured its sales activities and product range in 2023 with the goal of being among the best-selling brands in Vietnam in the coming years. The Cyberster is still on display.
Next to MG was the booth of Haval, a Chinese car brand entering the Vietnamese market in 2023. Real green moss meticulously attached to the brand label was an interesting highlight at the exhibition.
Haval is selling only one product in Vietnam, the H6 hybrid, and this was also the main character of its display in Hanoi.
Wuling knew how to make its own impression at the exhibition, showcasing the Mini EV electric car model with three different colors, emphasizing its urban and youthful nature, at the display booth.
The U.S.-China joint venture company changed the name of this car model from the beginning of 2024, by removing the word Hongguang, leaving only Mini EV on the rear of the car.
Japanese brands also impressed visitors with the latest generation of hybrid cars. Honda has been selling hybrid cars since the end of 2023, and the first model was the sporty CR-V.
After learning about the features and equipment of the car, many visitors went to Honda's test drive area at the exhibition to experience more.
Nissan brought the Kicks using unique e-Power technology to the exhibition. Unlike hybrid models from Honda, Haval, and Hyundai, the Nissan Kicks operates like a pure electric car, but instead of running on electricity, the car uses gasoline. The gasoline engine in the car acts as a generator, providing power to the battery.
Haima provided a friendly, connected space for families at the exhibition. The pure electric MPV 7X or 7X-E is promoted as a companion, connecting family members together.
Nearly a dozen accessory and industry-support brands such as charging stations, floor mats, dash cams also attended the event.
