The two musicians met up with Shontelle on Tuesday at a HCMC recording studio.
Linh (L) took a photo with the Barbadian singer and said he was glad to welcome Shontelle on her third visit to Vietnam for her performance at the 2023 Miss Earth Vietnam contest’s final night on Saturday.
The singer also celebrated her 48th birthday with Vietnamese stars in HCMC last week.
Shontelle said she collaborated with Linh and Only C on a rearranged version of her hit song “Impossible” as she wanted to send a surprise gift which contains positive messages for her Vietnamese fans.
Only C (R) said the cooperation was smooth despite cultural and language differences thanks to the love for music they shared.
Shontelle said she rewrote the lyrics for the song. The new lyrics will encourage youth to live more positively and pay more attention to their own health.
Suffering from sore eyes, Shontelle had to wear her sunglasses to the recording studio. Still, she tried to finish the recording on time.
Only C took charge of the rearrangement of the song.
“I was impressed with Shontelle’s powerful voice, friendly personality, and professional working attitude,” he said.
Shontelle had some fun moments during the break. She said she had had a great time in Vietnam and got the chance to meet, as well as to work with, many enthusiastic artists.
“I love Vietnam’s culture and people,” she said. “And I’m happy to be warmly welcomed every time I come here.”
Shontelle, 38, began her career in the music industry in 2008 with her first album “Shontelligence.”
The lead single “Impossible” of her second album “No Gravity” topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart shortly after its release in 2010, making the singer a household name.
Linh, 43, graduated from the Utrecht School of Arts before completing his master’s degree in composing at the University of Portsmouth and signing a contract with a record label in The Netherlands. He had produced many songs for Dutch, French, and American artists before returning to Vietnam in 2007.
Born Nguyen Phuc Thach, Only C, 35, has been recognized for his musical skills from an early age. He studied recording in Singapore.
