Donning an all-black outfit to the movie’s press conference held on Monday, the singer said she had been traveling back and forth between Vietnam and China recently as she has had schedules in both countries. She revealed that her income has surged thanks to her debut in the Chinese market.
The singer added that she had been constantly updating her projects in Vietnam, including information about the new movie on her Chinese social media profiles and received much support from local followers. Many have commented under her post that they would arrive in Vietnam on the movie’s premiere day to show their support for her.
Chi Pu expressed her wish that the movie’s producers could release exclusive gifts or similar to give her foreign fans as a way to say thanks.
Chi Pu plays a vampire named Trieu in the movie, which, she said, is supposed to be the most beautiful and evil character she has ever played.
The singer compared Trieu to Nhi, another villain character she played in the 2019 movie “Chi Chi Em Em” (Sister Sister), saying if Nhi’s evilness was partly created by external forces, Trieu is born with it.
She admitted that she had a lot of pressure playing Trieu.
Chi Pu and Thuan Nguyen, the movie’s lead actor, meet during the press conference.
The two said they had to carefully manage their look during the movie’s one-month-long shooting process, which mainly took place at night, since “vampires have good looks.”

Chi Pu, 30, is an actress and pop singer. She was honored on the Forbes' list of the Asia Pacific's 100 most influential digital stars in 2020.
She made her debut on the Chinese market with her appearance in “Sisters Who Make Waves,” a popular reality show in China. Her musical performances throughout the show gained attention from local audiences, and she took sixth place in the official competition out of dozens of stars.
A Shanghai-based pho restaurant of which she is one of the co-founders has recently opened, helping her further establish her position in the Chinese market.
