IE University has introduced two Master of Science (MSc) programs in Social Impact and Sustainability and Management at IE New York College, the school announced at a meeting in New York on Oct. 3.

"IE University reinforces its role as a global reference in higher education. The launch of IE New York College is a decisive step in this journey," Diego del Alcázar, CEO of IE University, said at the event, where the global growth strategy of the institution was outlined.

IE New York College, part of the IE University, is located in SoHo, New York. This February, the college welcomed its first graduate cohort of 31 students enrolled in the Master in Business for Social Impact & Sustainability program. In September, another 30 students began the Master of Management program.

Currently, 90% of the students at IENYC come from 34 different countries. Approximately 60% of these students are part of the "3+1" program, allowing undergraduate students from IE University in Spain to complete their master’s in New York. Additionally, there are students enrolled in the "1+1" master’s program, where graduates from Spain move to the U.S. campus for a second graduate degree.

Tuition fees range from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, and scholarships covering 50% to 75% of tuition are available for highly talented candidates. By 2026, the school plans to offer MSc programs in Finance and Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence.

Manuel Muñiz, Provost of IE University and Chair of the Board of Trustees of IE New York College, described IENYC as a "transatlantic bridge."

"By connecting Madrid and New York, IE offers a unique global model with a shared vision and transformative impact," Muñiz said at the program launching event on Oct. 3. "Our value lies in being a global institution with international students".

Muniz highlighted New York's dynamic and vibrant environment, which provides ample opportunities for both personal and professional growth. He emphasized that every graduate program includes capstone projects in partnership with corporations, placing students in consulting roles that often lead to job opportunities.

"Most of the young people across the world would prefer an international educational experience. Surveys show most employers would rather have people that have had some form of international training. There is clearly a thirst for a global education", Muniz stated

Diego del Alcázar added: "It is an important commitment for our institution, and New York aligns perfectly with our vision for the future and our strategic priorities. At IE New York College, we deliver academic programs connected to industry, prepare students to thrive in global markets and lead with impact".

He also noted that the school is expanding and becoming more localized in New York while maintaining its mission to provide international education to top talents from around the world.

This is a bold step by IE University in the context that the US Government announced the increase of the fee of H1B visa to $100,000 last month. In addition, earlier this year, the government has cut down their federal funding to scientific research, and other higher institutions are cutting down their enrollment and faculty staff due to financial difficulties.

IENYC expects only 10% of its students to be American citizens. Graduates from STEM programs can work in the U.S. for up to three years through the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program.

IE University is ranked 11th in the Global MBA category in the 2026 QS World University Rankings. The university offers innovative undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare students for global leadership, with a focus on entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and international experience. Flexible pathways such as the 3+1 Bachelor's + Master's Accelerated Program and the 1+1 Combined Bachelor's & Master's Degrees allow students to earn advanced qualifications in less time while studying across Europe and the U.S.
