I am considering taking an injection to lose weight and body fat. Are weight management injections safe, or are there any side effects that I should keep in mind? (Han, 25, Binh Duong)

Answer:

Weight management injections are a series of jabs that enhance the process of transporting lipid across cell membranes to reduce the volume of undesired fat cells at several body parts after being put into the body.

Some side effects of weight-loss jabs are pain, thrombosis, or swelling lasting for 48 hours. Other severe side effects include cellulitis and necrosis, which may in turn result in scars.

Though the main cause of those side effects is wrong injection technique, people may still sometimes experience them even when the injection is done flawlessly.

Hence, the safest way to lose weight is by altering diet plans and exercising.

Other recommended methods are fat melting and fat freezing. You can also consider low-level laser therapy or ultrasonic cavitation.

It is advised to consult with your doctor before deciding to follow any weight loss methods.
