Designer Do Manh Cuong announced that he would no longer take part in the Los Angeles Fashion Show due to problems in delivering his creations to the U.S. from Vietnam.

Cuong said outfits he prepared for the show were not delivered on time, leaving him unable to hold the show as planned.

"It’s a shame, but it’s a force majeure event," he said. "I hope to get understanding from guests that have arranged their schedules to get to Los Angeles to watch my show."

Cuong was set to open the Los Angeles Fashion Show on Wednesday, only 17 days after he introduced his latest collection at the 2024 S/S New York Fashion Week on September 10.

The short leap between the two events had made him worried and hesitant when he first received the invitation from the organizers, but he decided to accept.

He had invited 500 guests to the show, including celebrities and loyal customers.

The designer said he would introduce outfits meant to be introduced in Los Angeles at a more suitable time. His highest priority at the moment is to return to Vietnam to reunite with his children.

Cuong, 42, graduated in the top 20 of his class at the French fashion school Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. He interned at Dior before returning to Vietnam and establishing his first brand DMC by Do Manh Cuong in 2007, then his second brand SIXDO in 2020.
