Vietnamese model celebrates birthday with US entrepreneur boyfriend

Co Ngan was able to celebrate her 29th birthday on April 24th with her entrepreneur boyfriend for only the second time in four years being together.

"Because of the pandemic, we’ve only been able to be together for this celebration twice...I haven’t been able to be with him during his birthdays, which made me feel very guilty," the model said.

Co Ngan shared many romantic moments with the party, saying that her boyfriend was "unusually sweet" that night.

"I had an amazing birthday again with you after three and a half years of being away from each other. Thank you for waiting for me such a long time," she said.

The entrepreneur Wynn Kats, 75, chose the world-famous Mastro’s Ocean Club in Newport Beach to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday.

Even though the couple arrived at 9 p.m., the restaurant was still packed with guests enjoying the night, an unusual sight when most other restaurants in the southern California beachside locale were already closed.

Co Ngan was served a special strawberry drink for her birthday. "At first, the glass was filled with smoke, I thought it was like those champagne towers you see in Vietnamese weddings, but then it started to bubble, which was exciting," she said.

The American billionaire ordered a seafood tower filled with customized ingredients for their appetizer. Ngan and Kats both chose steamed shrimp dipped in sauce, crab claws and raw oysters – served in ice to lock in the freshness. Their main dishes were pan-roasted fish, served with roasted asparagus, mashed potato, and a cream soup.

The restaurant also prepared a birthday cake for Co Ngan’s special day, with a ‘Happy Birthday’ message written on it. Her boyfriend said he adored the cream, which was made from scratch. The model closed her eyes to make a wish but was playfully interrupted by her boyfriend.

"My birthday experience was exceptional, from the food, the plating, to the friendly service," Ngan said.
Mastro’s Ocean Club is famed for its professional service and luxurious food – including steaks and seafood, alongside entertaining activities for guests. A signature here is the USDA Prime steak, which is aged for 28 days. Mastro’s diners also enjoy a variety of high-class wines.

Co Ngan, also known by her real name Co Thi Kim Ngan, is a model working in fashion and cosmetics. Her boyfriend Wynn Katz is the owner as well as designer of Rough Roses – a fashion line famous for leather bags and belts.

Ngan met Katz through Instagram in 2019. They met face-to-face during mutual business trips to Vietnam. Prior to Covid, the couple went through a temporary 6-month breakup due to frequent fights, but then soon made up during the pandemic. As of now, the pair is reunited in the U.S.
