As reported by News1 on Monday, the couple got separated after a long time considering their relationship. The exact motivation behind their separation has not been revealed, however, according to their respective management agencies, the stars ended on good terms and will maintain their relationship as supportive friends and coworkers.
Lee, 29, started her career in the entertainment industry as a member of the pop group Girl’s Day. She has been focusing on her acting career after the group decided to not renew their contracts with their management agency in 2019.
She ranked third in the Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2016 following her lead role in "Reply 1988" and has been one of the highest-paid commercial models in South Korea since.
Ryu, 37, began his acting career in 2012 with various independent film projects. He has won various acting prizes and awards throughout his career.
The two started dating after working together in the 2015 drama project "Reply 1988," which finished as the highest-rated drama in South Korean cable television history at the time.
