Police in HCMC said safety measures had been taken for shooting the viral video of two star acrobats performing a balancing act while riding a motorcycle for a commercial.

The Thu Duc City police said Sunday they had verified the video of brothers Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep going on a motorbike without helmets and with one balancing the other on his head.

The video was shot two months ago for a electric motorbike brand, and the crew responsible for making it have said they had a license to make it.

Besides safety equipment and experts, there was also an ambulance standing by.

They shot the video at the An Khanh urban area in Thu Duc City.

A crane held a safety harness all the way during their ride, and the rope and other equipment were edited out in the final video.

Vo Dan Mach, a lawyer, said if the police version is true it was a commercial performance with a warning to viewers, and does not violate any laws, but authorities would provide further clarification.

He said the video comes with a warning saying "This is performed by professional circus artists in a secured area. Please do not attempt to replicate under any circumstances."

Co started circus training at four and his brother at five. The two turned professional in 1999.

Their head to head got them into the top three on the 2018 Britain’s Got Talent reality show.

In recent years they have set multiple world records in this category.
