As reported by Sina, Ho and Dou donned clothes in matching colors and style to the event. However, instead of giving each other sweet acts as usual, the couple looked unhappy.
Ho even refused to hold Dou’s hand, even when the actor offered it to her. She gave an awkward expression in front of the cameras as she walked the red carpet, while her husband wore a polite smile.
The odd behavior prompted viewers to speculate that they had had an argument shortly before their arrival.
"Both of them seemed upset," a netizen wrote.
"Just a couple having a small fight," said another.
Ho and Dou had a multimillion-dollar wedding in April this year. They have been residing in a luxurious apartment in Shanghai ever since.
It is reported that they do not have any plans for children currently, as both are busy with their personal projects.
Ho, 32, is the daughter of the late casino mogul Stanley Ho and his third wife Ina Chan. Her father was renowned for his casino empire, and Forbes estimated her mother’s net worth at around $1 billion.
Dou, 35, is a renowned actor. His debut movie was "Under the Hawthorn Tree," directed by legendary Chinese auteur Zhang Yimou, while his other works include "Dangerous Liaisons," as well as "Time To Love" and "Princess Agents."
