The Telegraph reported that the incident took place as the flight was about to land at Phuket International Airport on Jan. 13.

A TikTok video, which has garnered over 3.4 million views, shows the snake casually moving along the overhead compartments. During the incident, several passengers vacated their seats to avoid the unexpected stowaway, while others used their phones to record the event.

A male flight attendant attempted to capture the snake first with an empty water bottle and then with a plastic bag, successfully securing it.

Following the landing, airport personnel thoroughly searched the aircraft and all luggage to confirm there were no additional unwanted reptilian passengers. The search revealed no other snakes.

CNN reported that Phol Poompuang, the head of corporate safety for AirAsia Thailand, described the event as "very rare." He also noted that crew members are trained to manage such situations.

The species of the snake remains unknown, and AirAsia has yet to comment on what became of the snake after the plane landed.
