A source close to Pitt denied a recent report characterized the actor as "depressed" and "frustrated" by the news, telling Page Six on Tuesday that "nothing could be further from the truth."

The source said that Pitt, who has not been seen publicly with Jolie-Pitt since 2016, will continue to remain silent on the matter.

Pitt’s representative has not responded to Page Six’s request for comment.

The controversy arose when screenshots of a post from Jolie-Pitt’s alleged private Instagram account circulated online, reported the DailyMail.

In the post from Father’s Day 2020, Jolie-Pitt reportedly criticized his estranged father, accusing him of being a "terrible and despicable person."

The post detailed grievances about Pitt’s alleged lack of empathy and its impact on the family.

This revelation came in the wake of Zahara Jolie-Pitt, another adopted child of the ex-couple, reportedly dropping her surname "Pitt" while being inducted into a sorority at Spelman College, according to The Independent. She introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie."

It was also revealed that Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the superstar ex-couple’s oldest child, reportedly does not use Pitt as his last name on non-legal documents and has expressed a desire to "legally change it to Jolie," a move not supported by his actress mother, according to an exclusive 2021 report by US Weekly.

Pax Thien, 20, was abandoned by his biological mother shortly after he was born in Ho Chi Minh City. He was then sent to a local orphanage, where people gave him the Vietnamese name Pham Quang Sang. He lived there until he was adopted by Jolie and her ex-husband Pitt in 2007.

He is now working as a visual artist whose works have strong abstract influences.

Jolie, 48, has six children with Pitt, 60: Maddox, Pax Thien, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox Jolie-Pitt. Along with Pax Thien, Maddox and Zahara are the ex-couple’s adopted children, from orphanages in Cambodia and Ethiopia, respectively. Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox are the couple’s biological children.

The actors have been embroiled in a custody battle ever since Jolie’s divorce filing in 2016. Jolie was initially granted physical custody of the children, while Pitt was given joint custody in 2021. However, the legal battle between the two stars is still ongoing.
