In comparison, Time Doctor, a time management and productivity application, states that the average monthly income for Chinese individuals is around 29,000 yuan. Due to his substantial earnings, Lu is often dubbed "China's richest beggar," and is recognized as one of the top income earners in the country.

His decision to pursue this line of work stems from his love for performing without the constraints of auditions or the need to venture beyond the studio. Initially met with skepticism from his family, they gradually embraced his unconventional choice when they witnessed the impressive financial returns.

Over the course of 12 years, Lu has cultivated a significant social media following, with carefully rehearsed acts, investments in professional costumes, and heartfelt prayers that resonate with many tourists. His performance has prompted numerous visitors to willingly contribute money.

The financial success stemming from Lu's beggar persona has sparked debates on social networks. While some applaud his creativity, others criticize his reliance on community goodwill, advising him to seek alternative employment opportunities.

"Despite the stability of my income, I caution individuals against attempting to emulate my success at Qingming Shanghe Garden, as competing with my well-practiced performance may prove challenging," Lu said.
