Saffar M. Godam, acting director general of immigration, said services at immigration officers are running smoothly, with all officers and facilities in place, The Bali Sun reported.
12,770 applications for visas and residence permits were processed on Tuesday alone.
Between March 28 and April 7, 217,695 visa applications were submitted through Indonesia’s online system.
Immigration offices in Bali were officially closed for in-person services from March 27 to April 7 in observance of national holidays. However, limited emergency services remained available, including for foreign nationals who needed to travel urgently for medical treatment or due to a family emergency abroad, NusaBali reported.
Thanks to pristine beaches with crystal blue waters and sacred Hindu temples, Bali has become a favorite destination. The island welcomed 6.3 million foreign visitors in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, and expects 6.5 million this year.
