Vietnamese will get a visa exemption for 15 days when they travel to South Korea's South Jeolla Province starting Mar. 15, the provincial governor said Saturday.

At a ceremony for tourism cooperation in Nha Trang City, Kim Yung-rok, governor of South Jeolla Province, said Vietnamese tourists visiting his province will also receive support for traveling and accommodation.

From April to October, both Vietnam and South Korea will strive for one flight a week from Cam Ranh Airport to Muan International Airport, amounting to around 43 chartered flights carrying 10,000 passengers from April to October. Tourists will have the opportunity to view flowers and snowfall, enjoy Jjimjilbang sauna and visit multiple cultural sites in South Jella.

South Jeolla Province, located in the southwestern region of South Korea, is known for its parks, temples and peach blossoms.

Vietnamese tourists will also be able to travel to Jeju Island and Gangwon Province's Yangyang using direct or chartered flights without the need for a visa.
