1.01 million Vietnamese tourists flocked to Cambodia last year, making it the kingdom's second largest source of arrivals after Thailand.

Thailand topped the list of foreign arrivals to Cambodia in 2023 with 1.82 million, according to Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism.

China came in third with 547,789, followed by Laos (372,285), and the U.S. (184,780).

Last year, Cambodia received a total 5.45 million foreign visitors, up 139.5% on the previous year.

A half of foreign arrivals selected Cambodia after visiting Thailand and Vietnam, said Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, as cited by Khmer Times.

Vietnamese carriers recently opened new routes to Cambodia.

Budget airline Vietjet last month opened a route linking Hanoi with Cambodia's Siem Reap.

Last year, Cambodia was also the second fastest-growing market for Vietnam’s inbound tourism, increasing by 176% from pre-Covid 2019, after India with 231%.
