Budget carrier Vietjet on Monday restarted flights between Da Nang and Tokyo as Japan fully reopened its borders.

It operates daily flights.

Japan has been allowing tourists from Vietnam since last month, with those having got a third dose of a Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Janssen, Bharat Biotech, or Nonavax vaccine not requiring to test for Covid before or after entry.

Japan began a phased reopening in June, initially allowing in visitors from 98 countries and territories, not including Vietnam.

Vietnam reopened its borders in mid-March after two years of closures and reinstituted its visa waiver for Japanese nationals.
