Nguyen Quoc Ky, chairman of Vietravel, said the five-star train service would be managed in conjunction with the Vietnam Railways Corporation in order to spur railway tourism development in Vietnam.
The train would boast luxurious bedrooms and a series of modern amenities, including gyms, multi-functional entertainment facilities, children's clubs, cinemas, video games and live performances, all geared towards providing passengers with a 5-star service experience.
The dining car would be run by local chefs, offering passengers a rich culinary experience featuring cross-regional specialties.
The train carriages would be decorated with local works of art, giving visitors an insight into Vietnam's heritage.
Traveling by train is becoming an increasingly popular trend in Vietnam, according to the firm, and a luxury option could provide travelers more unique experiences.
Last year, the railway industry launched a luxury train service connecting Hanoi and Da Nang.
Statistics from the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism showed that the number of domestic tourists using train services last year reached 10 million, up 15% against 2022, while the rising number of international visitors opting to travel by train was 1.5 million, a 20% increase.
Lonely Planet last year named The Reunification Express, or Vietnam's north-south railway, one of the most "incredible" rail trips in the world.
