Taiwan has extended its visa-free entry policy for tourists from Thailand, the Philippines and Brunei for another year to boost tourism revival.

Visitors from the three Southeast Asian countries would be allowed 14-day visa-free entry until July 31, 2024, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

They only need to furnish proof of hotel booking and sufficient funds and contact information.

Taiwan first waived visas for nationals of these countries in 2016, and has been extending it every year since.

It targets six million arrivals this year.

According to Tourism Bureau statistics, the island received around 900,000 visitors last year.
