Authorities in Thua Thien-Hue, home to popular tourist town Hue, are making comprehensive plans to welcome back a group of South Korean visitors in December.

A batch of people are booked to arrive by charter flight to attend an investment promotion conference, the government news portal reported Tuesday.

After more than two years of closure due to Covid-19, the arrival of the South Koreans would open up more opportunities for the tourism sector, the province Department of Tourism said.

The visitors will attend the conference at Laguna Lang Co Resort Complex in Phu Loc District, which is isolated from residential areas and has had all its staff fully vaccinated against Covid.

At the resort, they will play golf, try the renowned Hue food as well as traditional and contemporary art performances.

Hue, the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty, is home to royal tombs, ancient palaces and pagodas that attract millions of foreign visitors every year.

With the pandemic under control, other tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Hoi An plan to allow fully vaccinated foreign tourists in from next month.
