Tourists from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand have been named among 10 biggest spenders in Asia while traveling abroad, according to British website Merchant Machine.

The average South Koreans spend $3,040 when they go on holiday abroad, more than any other people in Asia.

Singaporeans ranked second with the average spending of $2,966, followed by Taiwanese ($2,096).

Indonesians came fourth in the region as they spend $1,861 per trip.

Thailand ranked ninth as tourists from that country spend $1,183 per trip.

To compile the list, Merchant Machine analysts used 2022 UN Tourism data to reveal how much the typical holidaymaker in 94 countries spends while on an international vacation.

They analyzed the total outbound expenditure for each country, dividing it by the total departures reported by some countries as "overnight visitors."
