Singapore budget carrier Scoot announced on Thursday the launch of a new service to Subang in Malaysia on Sept. 1.

The new daily service using Airbus A320 aircraft is expected to provide tourists with an alternative option to travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, The Straits Times quoted the carrier as saying.

Subang, a township in Petaling District, is situated 17 km west of Kuala Lumpur.

Prices for an one-way economy class flight from Singapore to Subang starts from S$83 (US$61).

Firefly, a low-cost subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, is currently the only airline to operate flights between Singapore and Subang.
