Passengers on a Scoot flight waited about two hours onboard before take-off on Feb. 1 due to disruptions linked to the Singapore Airshow.

One of the affected passengers said flight TR676 from Singapore to Chiang Mai was scheduled to depart at 9 a.m. However, passengers were informed that the aircraft could only take off at around 11:30 a.m. because of the airshow, Singaporean news site Stomp reported.

During the delay, passengers were given a snack bag containing a box of potato crackers and a bottle of water.

They also received a flight delay notice offering a refund should they choose not to continue traveling with Scoot.

According to Scoot’s website, the flight eventually departed at 11 a.m. and arrived in Chiang Mai at 12:52 p.m.

The passenger said the delay left her frustrated as it disrupted her travel plans.

A Scoot spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience and said the delay was caused by air traffic congestion at Changi Airport ahead of temporary airspace closures for the biennial Singapore Airshow.

The 10th edition of Singapore Airshow 2026 is taking place from Feb. 3-8 at the Changi Exhibition Center.

Earlier, Singapore Airlines said flights to and from Singapore between Jan. 29 and Feb. 8 will be affected.
