At around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday the 31-year-old man was stuck in the 10-meter-high waterfall off Mo Khe Ram Stream in Hoa Vang District and clinging to a rock halfway up.
Locals called authorities for help.
Rescue forces had to traverse more than a kilometer of forest roads with dangerous rocky slopes.
On arriving at the scene they found the waterfall was rapid, which made it difficult to reach the man.
They used ropes and harnesses, and had protective equipment, to swing across the waterfall and reach him and slowly pull him out.
The rescue took around 30 minutes.
Located inside a valley with pristine natural landscapes, the waterfall is in the Ba Na - Nui Chua Nature Reserve on Mount Ba Na, a 1,487 meter-high mountain on the border between Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province.
The area has become a popular destination for adventure lovers.
