He was deported to his country of origin on Jan. 31, Thai newspaper Khaosod English reported.
On an AirAsia flight from Cam Ranh International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport on Jan. 30, he allegedly stripped naked, repeatedly ran in and out of the aircraft toilet, argued with cabin crew, and demanded that the plane's doors be opened mid-air, British newspaper Daily Mail reported.
Witnesses said he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and shouted profanities in Russian.
As the flight landed at Don Mueang, the man jumped down as soon as the door was opened and even before the stair truck arrived.
He injured himself in the leg as he tried to escape, but was captured by authorities.
Immigration officers confirmed he was a Russian national.
They found him to be heavily intoxicated, incoherent and unable to explain the purpose of his visit or where he intended to stay.
He was also deemed to lack sufficient financial means to support his stay in Thailand.
He was then denied entry and placed in immigration custody, with officials arranging for his immediate removal from the country.
AirAsia has not issued an official comment on the extent of the damage and additional costs arising from the emergency landing. But under international aviation regulations, disruptive passengers face severe financial penalties, permanent flight bans and criminal charges depending on the severity of the threat to aviation safety.
