The Qatar government has returned to its policy of visa-free entry for citizens of 95 countries and territories, following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup.

Qatar previously banned the entry of visitors through its air, land and marine borders to ensure successful organization of the FIFA World Cup that was held in Doha between November 20 and December 18.

Citizens from 95 countries, including Southeast Asia's major economies such as Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, are now allowed to enter Qatar without applying for a visa with a maximum visa-free stay of up to 30 days.

Quarantine is no longer required for all visitors arriving from abroad; however, those who test positive for Covid after arriving in Qatar are instructed to follow pandemic protocols and to adopt self-isolation measures.

Vietnamese tourists can apply for a tourist visa to Qatar with a maximum stay of 30 days. Vietnam and Qatar last year agreed to work toward exempting visas for ordinary passport holders to boost tourism between the countries.
