The incident occurred on Delta Flight 1203, a Boeing 737-900 en route from Utah to Oregon on Sept. 15. Passengers began to experience discomfort mid-flight, with some reporting pain in their ears, while others noticed blood coming from their ears and noses, according to CNN.
Delta Airlines stated that the flight crew followed safety protocols and returned the aircraft to Salt Lake City, Utah. Passengers were transferred to a different plane, and the pressurization issue was repaired, allowing the aircraft to return to service the following day, the Independent reported.
While no serious injuries were reported, 10 passengers received medical evaluation and treatment after landing. The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to launch an investigation into the incident.
