Phong Nha City in central Vietnam has been ranked the most affordable spring travel destination in Asia, with average hotel room rates costing just VND715,000 (US$28) per night, according to online travel platform Agoda.

Tirupati, India, placed second with room rates averaging $34 per night, followed by Hat Yai in Thailand and Padang in Indonesia, both at $40.

To compile the ranking, Agoda analyzed average room rates across 20 destinations per market based on accommodation bookings. The analysis included reservations made in January and February 2025 for stays between April 1 and May 31, 2025.

Bacolod in the Philippines rounded out the top five, while other destinations on the list included Kuala Terengganu in Malaysia, Gimpo in South Korea, Narita in Japan, and Pingtung in Taiwan.

Located in Quang Binh Province, often referred to as Vietnam's "kingdom of caves," Phong Nha is surrounded by lush rivers, rice fields, towering mountains, and tropical forests.

The city is famous for its natural attractions, particularly Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is home to Son Doong, the world's largest cave.
