Thailand ranked sixth with a score of 92.09, while Vietnam followed closely at seventh with 91.91 points, according to the annual Readers' Choice Awards's survey that asks travelers to rate countries on factors such as culture, attractions, cuisine, and overall experience.
Over 575,000 readers participated in the survey, sharing insights on various travel experiences, including cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, spas, and airlines.
Japan was ranked the best country in the world for the second consecutive year, followed by Portugal and Turkey. Italy and Spain rounded out the top five, with New Zealand, Iceland, and Greece completing the top 10.
The Readers' Choice Awards, the longest-running honor in the travel industry, recognize excellence in hotels, resorts, and destinations worldwide.
Thailand has welcomed nearly 27 million foreign tourists this year, up 30% year-on-year, aided by favorable visa policies.
Vietnam, meanwhile, received 12.7 million international arrivals between January and September, surpassing last year's total.
