Thailand beats Japan, Singapore as top destination for repeat Vietnamese travelers

75% of surveyed Vietnamese travelers said they have returned to visit their favorite destinations, according to a survey conducted via the Agoda platform between Aug. 1 and 19.

The survey polled over 4,000 participants from Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

When asked what makes their favorite destinations so irresistible, ease of travel, local cuisine and convenient location are the top three reasons mentioned by Vietnamese travelers.

Thailand has long been a top favorite destination of Vietnamese tourists, with many praising the cheap airfares, high-quality tourism services and friendliness. Some said they have returned to visit Thailand more than 10 times.

Southeast Asian countries in general have been a top choice of Vietnamese tourists thanks to visa-free travel and proximity.
