Three Asian cities—Singapore, Taipei, and Manila—have been named among the world's best for nightlife by British magazine Time Out.

The list, which ranks the best cities for nightlife experiences in 2024, was compiled based on a survey of thousands of people across hundreds of cities. Respondents were asked to rate their city's nightlife in terms of both quality and affordability.

Rio de Janeiro of Brazil topped the list.

Manila, the capital of the Philippines, ranked second, with locals describing the city as "beautiful," "bright," and "alive" after dark.

Time Out highlighted Manila's vibrant late-night food markets, such as Divisoria, and the lively nightlife in districts like Poblacion and Bonifacio Global City.

Taiwan's Taipei ranked 12th on the list. Locals noted that the city offers no shortage of entertainment options at night.

Popular nightlife activities include visiting the bustling Shilin and Raohe night markets or ending the night with a late-night hotpot at one of Taipei's many restaurants, such as Orange Shabu, which stays open until 2:30 a.m.

Singapore also made the list. While the city is praised for the quality of its nightlife, many locals pointed out the high cost.

Singapore is known for its luxury cocktail bars and high-end clubs, but budget-conscious travelers can still enjoy the city's nightlife at more affordable spots like low-key jazz bars and indie music venues.
