The Philippines leads Asia in terms of prospective digital nomads, with one in 14 respondents expecting to work remotely while traveling in 2025, according to digital travel platform Agoda.

It surveyed 1,081 respondents across 11 markets - Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Agoda's findings revealed Filipinos are the most likely in the region to embrace the digital nomad lifestyle.

Many Asian countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia, and South Korea, have been introducing special visa policies to attract digital nomads, enabling them to work remotely while experiencing stunning landscapes and vibrant local cultures.

Despite this trend, 23% of Filipinos still prefer traditional work trips, Agoda said.

In Vietnam, the digital nomad trend is emerging more gradually, with one in 25 respondents expressing hopes of working remotely while traveling this year.
