Hanoi surpasses Bangkok, Singapore to become Asia's best city break destination

This marks the third time Hanoi has claimed this title, triumphing over rivals such as Bangkok, Singapore, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Kyoto, the organizing committee announced at the awards ceremony held in the Philippines on Tuesday.

In addition to this accolade, Hanoi was also honored as "Asia's Leading City Destination."

Recently, 4,500 tourists from Sun Pharmaceuticals, a major Indian company owned by Dilip Shanghvi, India's fifth richest individual, visited Hanoi and explored popular attractions such as the Hoa Lo Prison Relic and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university.

Several other Vietnamese destinations were also recognized during the ceremony.

Ho Chi Minh City was named "Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination," while Hoi An secured the title of "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination."

The Tam Chuc Complex in the northern province of Ha Nam was awarded "Asia's Leading Cultural Tourist Attraction."

Ha Nam, about 60 kilometers south of Hanoi, was recognized as "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination."

Situated 120 kilometers south of Hanoi, Cuc Phuong National Park was named "Asia's Leading National Park" for the sixth consecutive year.

The northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, near the Chinese border, was recognized as "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination," while its neighbor Moc Chau, approximately 200 kilometers west of Hanoi, was voted "Asia's Leading Regional Nature Destination."

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry and have been described as the "Oscars of the travel industry."

These annual awards are based on votes cast by travel industry professionals and the public.
