2 Southeast Asian beaches among world's 25 best: Tripadvisor

Located at the southern tip of Phuket, Banana Beach on Koh Hey (Coral Island) ranked second on the list.

"At Banana Beach, you've got everything you need for the perfect beach day. Go snorkeling or diving around the stunning coral reefs, or grab a board and catch some waves," Tripadvisor editors recommended.

Known for its wide stretch of white sand and crystal-clear blue waters, the beach remains nearly deserted due to the absence of restaurants and tourism services.

Kelingking Beach, famous for its breathtaking cliff formations, powdery white sand, and blue-green waters, ranked ninth.

"It’s easy to access and offers ample parking, yet it still retains a secluded, relaxed vibe. The clear water is perfect for snorkeling and exploring marine life, and the sunsets are truly photo-worthy," Tripadvisor noted.

Seen from above, the cliffs surrounding Kelingking Beach resemble the spine of a giant animal or a roaring dinosaur. Nearby, a chain of restaurants serves traditional local dishes, with popular options including fried rice with sea fish and shrimp, accompanied by shrimp chips.

Elafonissi Beach in Greece was named the world's best this year.

Other destinations on the list included Siesta Beach in the U.S., Playa de Muro Beach in Spain, Spiaggia dei Conigli in Italy, and Manly Beach in Australia.

The 2025 Travelers' Choice Awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews submitted globally on Tripadvisor between Oct. 1, 2023, and Sept. 30, 2024. These awards celebrate destinations with the highest ratings, highlighting places that have captured the hearts of travelers worldwide.

According to Tripadvisor, this year's winning beaches "promise a dreamy escape."
