Nha Trang authorities are offering tourists free rides on open-top buses this week as they host a major summer beach festival to boost tourism.

The buses, which are making their first appearance in the city, will depart from Vinpearl, a tourist area, pass through the 12-kilometer Tran Phu Street along the beach, and reach Amiana Resort Nha Trang 30 kilometers away.

There will be three daily trips between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Nha Trang, famous for its long sandy beaches, has received over 31,000 foreign arrivals in the first five months of this year, according to the local tourism department, after few visited the city in the same period last year due to Covid-19.

In 2019 the year before the pandemic began, Khanh Hoa Province which is home to Nha Trang received over seven million tourists, half of them foreigners.

Open-top tourist buses also ply in Hanoi, HCMC and Ha Long.
