A seafood restaurant in Nha Trang has been fined VND21 million ($825) for posting incorrect signage, offering unclear prices and failing to produce sufficient food safety certificates.

The Hai San Tuoi Song Thanh Suong restaurant, located on Tran Phu Street, had been previously accused by customers of inflating prices.

The fine was issued by the Nha Trang People's Committee, and authorities have made the restaurant owner remove the facility's billboard and fix it. The restaurant's business license says that the facility's name is "Ho Kinh Doanh Hai San Tuoi Song Thach Suong," meaning "Thach Suong Fresh Seafood Trading Household" and this must be reflected on the signage, which previously omitted several words.

The Thach Suong restaurant is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Nha Trang. On its official website, the restaurant stated that there are only three branches of the restaurant in the beach town, but locals said several other places have tried to masquerade themselves as the restaurant by giving themselves misleading names.

Three months prior, a seafood restaurant also named Thanh Suong, also on Tran Phu Street, was accused of inflating prices and was fined VND34 million for numerous violations.
