Jetstar said Tuesday morning that flight JQ64 scheduled to leave at 10:35 p.m. could require a part to be flown in from Singapore to fix the problem with the door, Australia's leading news site news.com.au reported.
The stranded passengers have been provided with hotel accommodation and the flight is expected to take off Tuesday night.
"We never want to delay a flight but safety is always our number one priority and we apologize for the inconvenience," Jetstar said in a press release.
