Hanoi weekend: what to do and where to go

Hanoi's upcoming weekend offers a diverse array of activities, from an MTV 90s musical event and a mooncake workshop, to a luxurious brunch, Italian summer party, swing dance sessions, and cocktails.

8X Memories - MTV 90's

The event "8X Memories - MTV 90's" will take the audience back to their youth, featuring performances of music from the early 2000s this Friday. This was when MTV emerged as an entertainment powerhouse, showcasing pop music and creating iconic pop stars.

The event is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, at Polygon Musik, Complex 01, at No. 29, Alley 31, Lane 167 Tay Son, Dong Da District. The admission fee per individual stands at VND250,000 ($10.50), including a complimentary beverage. Tickets can be purchased by accessing the following link.

Stellar modern brunch

InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 introduces a new Sunday brunch menu at Stellar Steakhouse, offering a wide variety of dishes from both Western and Asian cuisines. Guests can relish choices such as prime rib roast, seafood, Iberian pork belly, duck à l'orange, and caviar. Brunch attendees can also indulge in cocktails, wines, champagne, and beer options.

Prices start at VND2,900,000 ($122.20), including a welcome cocktail. Members of InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72's Lifestyle! program can enjoy 30% savings on the brunch packages.

The Sunday brunch is available every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stellar Steakhouse Spoons Restaurant on the 62nd floor of InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, situated at Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower, Plot E6, Cau Giay Urban Area, Me Tri Ward, Tu Liem District.

Mooncake workshop

The Indoor Cafe and Bistro will host an event to celebrate the mooncake festival, featuring a mooncake workshop session. Participants will learn about the history and culture of mooncakes, as well as how to make their own mooncakes. Participants will also be treated to a cake buffet segment, where they can sample 12 assorted flavors of mooncakes. At the end of the event, there will be a musical showcase, featuring five performances that correspond to the five classical elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, at Indoor Café & Bistro, situated at No. 1, Alley 53, Lane 252 Tay Son, Dong Da District. Tickets are VND100,000 ($4.20) per person.

Italiana summer party

Hanoi is hosting the first Italian Summer Party 2023, a two-day event that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam. The event offers an opportunity to experience Italian culture, cuisine, and music in the heart of Hanoi.

The event features more than 50 stalls that display various aspects of Italy, such as food and beverages, souvenirs, and live performances. Visitors can also enjoy more than 20 additional activities, such as learning how to make pizza and pasta, attending workshops by a 2-star Michelin chef from Italy, or dressing up in costumes inspired by the famous Venice Carnival.

The event is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Kinh Do Light Square, Ocean City Hanoi, located at the eastern gateway of Hanoi.

Hanoi swing out

Hanoi Swing Out, a dance event that introduces and promotes swing dance in Hanoi, is back with a new schedule and venue. Participants can learn the basics of swing dance, followed by a social dance session, where they can practice and enjoy the music and the atmosphere.

The event will be held on four dates on August 11, 15, 22, and 27. Each date will start at 8 p.m. and end at 10 p.m, at COMPLEX 01, situated at No. 29, Alley 31, Lane 167 Tay Son Street, Dong Da District.

The participation fee for the event is VND50.000 ($2.10) per person, including a mineral water bottle. There is no need to register in advance for the event. However, participants are requested not to bring outside food into COMPLEX 01.

Episode 3: Signature Cocktail Debut

Ministry of Men Hanoi, a premium bar and lounge located on the third floor of Meliá Hotel Hanoi, is set to unveil its third "Signature Cocktail" this upcoming Friday. This series draws inspiration from notable personalities who have made a significant mark on the world.

The launch event will take place from 8 p.m. to 11p.m. on Friday at Ministry of Men Hanoi, situated at 44B Ly Thuong Kiet Street. The event will also feature live music, entertainment, and a surprise for those who dress in pink. The dress code is optional, but encouraged. The event also offers a 15% discount on the Signature Cocktail menu throughout the week.
