Hanoi weekend: cat adoption day and Korean food fair

Hanoi's weekend is set for a vibrant mix of culture and leisure, featuring lacquer art, cat adoption opportunities, cultural exhibits, Korean cuisine, and a relaxed socializing event.

The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Japan-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations with "Moon", an art exhibition by Saeko Ando, opening this weekend.

Saeko Ando, a Japanese artist residing in Vietnam since 1995, has mastered lacquer painting, blending traditional Vietnamese techniques with artistry. "Moon" highlights the celestial body in various phases, seasons, and colors, paired with waka poems selected by Saeko.

The exhibition runs from September 10 to October 1, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free admission. The event is being held at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, located at 27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District.

Cat adoption day

Meo Haus Cat Cafe is hosting a cat adoption day in Hanoi this weekend at its location. Cat owners can attend by purchasing a VND90,000 ($3.70) combo package, which includes unlimited tea refills and the chance to meet cats in need of loving homes.

Guests are asked to adhere to certain guidelines, which include supervising children under 13, refraining from bringing outside animals, food, or drinks, sanitizing hands, and removing shoes before entering cat playrooms, observing a maximum occupancy of 20 individuals per room, and exercising patience and gentleness when interacting with the cats.

In addition, key rings and stationery items will be available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting nearly 200 dogs and cats in need through Hanoi Pet Adoption , a volunteer group founded in 2015 that is committed to rescuing, rehoming, and advocating for responsible pet ownership, benefiting nearly 200 dogs and cats in need.

The event is scheduled for September 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Meo Haus Cat Cafe, situated at 28D Pham Hong Thai Street, Ba Dinh District.

Singapore - Vietnam 50-10 exhibition

"Huu Nghi: Singapore & Vietnam 50-10" is an art exhibition commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between Singapore and Vietnam.

It is organized and curated by Maya Gallery (Singapore) and Chau & Co Gallery (Vietnam), with support from the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam.

The exhibition will feature diverse artworks reflecting the cultures and histories of both nations. It highlights the talents of 14 artists from Vietnam and Singapore, including various mediums such as painting, photography, ceramics, and sculpture.

The event is open to the public and free of charge and will take place from September 10 to 14, at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum, at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District.

K FOOD Fair 2023

After a five-year hiatus, the Korean Food Festival - K FOOD Fair 2023 is making a return in Hanoi. This event presents an opportunity to savor Korean cuisine and a variety of Korean fruits at nearly 50 stalls.

The highlight of this festival is the Vietnamese-Korean Music Festival, featuring performances by singers, as well as the grand finale of the K-pop K-Dance Party Dance Cover contest.

The event is scheduled for September 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Kingdom of Light Square, situated at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2

Sundown Weekend

TÁCH SPACES invites you to savor the beauty of sundown at their weekly event, "Sundown Weekend" this Saturday.

Attendees can relish the sunset while enjoying cocktails such as Old Fashioneds, Cuba Libres, Gold Rushes, and more. To complement the beverage offerings, a variety of delectable dishes like BBQ skewers, pan-fried dumplings, and TÁCH's signature fried potatoes will be available.
